About Carriera
Two practice areas, one mission — your people.
A boutique recruitment agency and an HRD Corp Approved training provider, run by one small team under one brand in Setia Alam, Selangor.

Carriera is the public brand for two licensed Malaysian companies: Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd (recruitment, MoHR licence JTKSM 615) and Carriera Academy Sdn Bhd (an HRD Corp Approved Training Provider). One small team handles permanent hiring and claimable corporate training for 50+ companies, from Setia Alam, Selangor.
- One brand, two licensed companies. Carriera = a JTKSM 615-licensed recruitment agency (Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd, 1058296-H) and an HRD Corp Approved training provider (Carriera Academy Sdn Bhd, 1112514-D).
- Permanent placement + claimable training. We place white-collar talent for SMEs and MNCs across Peninsular Malaysia, and deliver SBL-Khas claimable corporate training fundable from your HRD Corp levy.
- Built for the businesses that anchor the economy. SMEs (MSMEs) employed 8,100,000 people — 48.7% of Malaysia's workforce in 2024 (DOSM) — and they are exactly who we serve.
- Boutique by design. You deal directly with consultants, not account managers. We have served 50+ companies from our Setia Alam office.
Who is Carriera?
Carriera brings two disciplines that usually live in separate firms under one roof — and one accountable team. We place permanent white-collar talent for SMEs and MNCs across Peninsular Malaysia, and we deliver practical, HRD Corp claimable corporate training for employers who want their people to grow. The thread running through both is simple: your human talent is your most important asset, so it should be handled by people who treat it that way.
We are deliberately boutique. You deal directly with consultants — not a relay of account managers — which is why we can keep quality high and attention undivided. To date we have served 50+ companies across logistics, manufacturing, electronics, professional services, retail and more.
What does "two registered companies, one brand" mean?
Recruitment and training are regulated under different Malaysian frameworks, so each sits in its own legally registered entity. The public brand you see — Carriera — is the front door; the credentials below are the trust spine behind it. Both companies share the same team, values and Setia Alam office.
| Practice area | Registered entity | Company No. | Credential |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recruitment Permanent placement |
Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd | 1058296-H | MoHR-licensed private employment agency, JTKSM 615 |
| Corporate Training HRD Corp claimable |
Carriera Academy Sdn Bhd | 1112514-D | HRD Corp Approved Training Provider (SBL-Khas claimable) |
Those licences are not decoration. A JTKSM number means our placement work is registered with the Ministry of Human Resources; an HRD Corp approval means our training can be funded from your statutory levy rather than your cash flow. If a term here is new to you, the glossary explains JTKSM, SBL-Khas and the rest in plain English.
Why does HRD Corp approval matter to an employer?
Because it turns training from a cost into a draw-down on money you have already set aside. HRD Corp (Human Resource Development Corporation) is the agency under Malaysia's Ministry of Human Resources, operating under the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act 2001. Employers in the Services, Manufacturing, and Mining & Quarrying sectors contribute a monthly HRD levy for each local employee — charged at 1% of monthly wages for employers with 10 or more Malaysian employees, and 0.5% for those with 5 to 9 who opt in, per the official HRD Corp employer guidance.
“The Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) was incorporated through the enactment of the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act 2001 on 17 April 2001… As an agency under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), PSMB is responsible for collecting levy from key industries and disbursing training grants to registered employers” — HRD Corp, “About Us”
The SBL-Khas (Skim Bantuan Latihan Khas, the "HRD Corp Claimable Courses" scheme) lets registered employers spend that levy on approved training without paying the provider upfront — the course fee is debited from the employer's HRD Corp account, as set out in HRD Corp's official SBL-Khas guidance. Because Carriera Academy is an Approved Training Provider, our programmes qualify. We always tell employers to confirm their own eligibility and balance directly with HRD Corp before claiming.
Four things that set us apart
Different firms compete on volume, software or scale. We compete on attention and on understanding the Malaysian market our clients actually operate in.
Quality Over Volume
We do not flood your inbox with unsuitable CVs. Every candidate we present has been manually screened and assessed against your specific brief — qualifications, technical knowledge, experience and soft skills.
We Know the Malaysian Market
Salary benchmarks, talent availability, industry norms and candidate expectations across Peninsular Malaysia inform every shortlist — so your offers land and your hires stay.
Compliance-Focused
Our work is grounded in real Malaysian rules — the Employment Act, LHDN, and SST literacy on the recruitment side, and HRD Corp-recognised content on the training side.
Small Team, Full Attention
You deal directly with our consultants, not account managers. Your hiring and training needs are handled personally, from first brief to accepted offer.
Which sectors does Carriera serve?
The businesses we serve are the backbone of the Malaysian economy. According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia, micro, small and medium enterprises employed 8,100,000 people in 2024 — 48.7% of the country's total workforce, as reported in the DOSM MSMEs Performance 2024 release. When you are competing for talent in that market, the quality of your hiring and training is a competitive advantage, not an overhead.
Our recruitment work spans goods-and-services businesses that keep Malaysia's economy moving — heavy in logistics, manufacturing and trade, but broad enough to cover professional and financial services too. We place from management down to specialist and technical roles within each.
- Logistics, Freight Forwarding & Warehousing
- Medical Devices & Disposables Manufacturing
- Electrical & Electronics
- High-Precision Manufacturing
- Food, Plastic & Paper Packaging Manufacturing
- Retail Chains & Supermarket Chains
- Wholesale & Distribution
- Accounting, Professional, Corporate & Financial Services
If you are hiring in one of these — or training a team within it — our recruitment service and corporate training are built for exactly your context.
