Recruitment for professional & corporate services

Permanent finance, HR, advisory, consulting and corporate-support talent for firms and functions across the Klang Valley.

By Steph Eng · Carriera·Updated 17 June 2026
The short answer

Carriera — Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd, licensed JTKSM 615 — places permanent professional and corporate-services talent for SMEs and MNCs across the Klang Valley and Peninsular Malaysia. That spans accounting, finance, HR, advisory, consulting and corporate-support roles, matched through manual screening rather than a CV flood.

§ 01
The Sector

What does "professional & corporate services" cover?

We use the term for two overlapping groups. The first is professional-services firms — accounting and audit practices, tax advisers, corporate and financial-services providers, and consulting or advisory businesses whose product is their people's expertise. The second is the corporate-services functions that every company runs in-house: finance and accounts, human resources, administration, company-secretarial support, and sales and marketing. Both sit firmly in our permanent white-collar remit, from executive entry through to head-of-department level.

These roles are unusual in one respect — they touch a company's money, its people and its compliance, often all at once. A finance manager closes the books and signs off on statutory filings; an HR executive owns payroll and Employment Act compliance; an accounts executive reconciles against LHDN and SST positions. Getting the wrong person into one of these seats is expensive in a way that goes beyond salary. That is why our screening for this sector leans hard on assessed competence, not a polished CV. § 02
Typical Roles

Which roles do we typically place?

The table below draws on roles currently briefed to us across our client base — corporate-services functions that recur in nearly every company we recruit for, regardless of the industry the parent business sits in. Salary figures are monthly basic ranges as briefed; the Klang Valley locations are where the seats actually sit. Live openings are always on our jobs board.

Role (live or recent brief)Klang Valley locationSalary band (monthly)
Finance ManagerKota Bayuemas, KlangRM7,000 – RM12,000
EA to the Managing Director / Special ProjectsTaman Klang Jaya, KlangRM5,000 – RM7,000
Accounts ExecutiveSungai BulohRM3,500 – RM5,000
HR & Administrative ExecutiveSungai BulohRM2,800 – RM3,500
Junior Finance & Accounts ExecutiveBandar Bukit Raja, KlangRM2,500 – RM4,000
Sales & Marketing ExecutiveSunway Damansara, Petaling JayaRM2,000 – RM2,500

Beyond what is live today, the standard corporate-services and professional-services roles we recruit across include the following — grouped the way hiring managers tend to think about them.

A

Consulting & advisory

Management and business consultants, advisory associates and managers, corporate and financial-services specialists, and client-facing engagement leads.

B

Specialist functions

Accountants and finance managers, audit and tax executives, HR business partners, payroll and company-secretarial specialists.

C

Corporate support

Admin and office managers, executive assistants to directors, sales and marketing executives, and operations coordinators that keep a function running.

These seats touch money, people and compliance at the same time. The cost of the wrong hire is never just the salary — so we screen for proven competence, not a polished CV.

§ 03
Screening

How do we screen for these roles?

Our screening follows the same six-step search we run for every assignment, but with the compliance-sensitive nature of corporate-services roles built in from the brief. We assess each candidate on qualifications, technical knowledge, experience and soft skills before anyone reaches your shortlist — and for these functions, the technical assessment carries real weight.

  • Technical competence is tested, not assumed. For a finance or accounts hire, that means probing genuine familiarity with the statutory filing cycle, LHDN and SST positions — not just a line on a résumé.
  • Compliance literacy. Because we work with literacy in the Employment Act, LHDN and SST, we can sense-check whether an HR or finance candidate actually understands the obligations their role carries.
  • Discretion for sensitive seats. Confidential mandates — an EA to the MD, a finance manager replacing an incumbent — stay contained because you deal directly with one consultant, not an account-management chain.
  • Cultural and stakeholder fit. Corporate-services people work across the whole business. We assess how a candidate communicates with finance, operations and leadership, not only whether they can do the task.

This is the quality-over-volume approach in practice: a tight, genuinely-assessed shortlist rather than a stack of forwarded CVs. If you would like to understand how the fee side works for a permanent placement, our guide to recruitment agency fees in Malaysia explains the contingency model in plain English — we scope each role and quote before any search begins.

§ 04
Trust & Licence

Why a licensed agency matters here

For roles that sit close to a company's finances and compliance, working with a licensed agency is not a nicety. Our recruitment entity is Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd (Co. No. 1058296-H), a private employment agency licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources under JTKSM 615. The Labour Department of Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM) states that private employment agencies are regulated under the Private Employment Agencies Act 1981 [Act 246], which requires anyone undertaking recruiting activities to be licensed (jtksm.mohr.gov.my). Engaging a licensed agency means your hiring is handled within that legal framework — which matters most when the seat being filled is itself a compliance role.

Once your corporate-services team is in place, Carriera's training arm — Carriera Academy Sdn Bhd, an HRD Corp Approved Training Provider — can develop them through HRD-Corp-claimable programmes in tax, the Employment Act, financial analysis and more, funded from your levy under the SBL-Khas scheme (hrdcorp.gov.my). See our corporate training page for the themes we cover.

FAQ

Professional & corporate services questions

What counts as a professional or corporate-services role?
We use it for two overlapping groups: professional-services firms (accounting, audit, tax, advisory, consulting, corporate and financial services) and the corporate-services functions every company runs — finance, accounts, HR, administration, company-secretarial support, sales and marketing. We place permanent white-collar talent across both, from executive to head-of-department level.
Do you recruit for the Klang Valley specifically?
Yes. We are based in Setia Alam, Selangor, and most of our corporate-services placements sit within the Klang Valley — Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Klang, Sungai Buloh and Kuala Lumpur — though we recruit across Peninsular Malaysia.
Can you fill confidential roles like an EA to the MD or a Finance Manager?
Yes. Sensitive corporate-services roles — executive assistant to the MD, finance manager, HR lead — are a core part of what we place. Because we are a small team, you deal directly with the consultant running the search, which keeps confidential mandates contained.
Are you a licensed recruitment agency?
Yes — Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd is a private employment agency licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources under JTKSM 615, as required by the Private Employment Agencies Act 1981 (Act 246).
How do recruitment fees work for these roles?
We do not publish a fixed placement-fee percentage — the right number depends on the role's seniority and the difficulty of the search. We scope each assignment and quote before any work begins. Our guide to recruitment agency fees in Malaysia explains how placement fees typically work.
