Privacy Notice
How Carriera collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) — written in plain language, because a notice you cannot read protects nobody.
Carriera collects personal data when you use our contact form, apply for a job, or register for a training programme. We use it to answer you, to match candidates with employers, and to administer training. Candidates' details are shared with prospective employer clients — that is what a recruitment agency does. We do not sell personal data. You can ask us at any time what we hold, have it corrected, or withdraw your consent, by emailing recruitment@carriera.com.my or trainings@carriera.com.my.
Who this notice is from
“Carriera” is the public brand of two Malaysian companies, and this notice covers both:
- Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd (Co. No. 1058296-H), a private employment agency licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources under Licence No. JTKSM 615 — responsible for recruitment.
- Carriera Academy Sdn Bhd (Co. No. 1112514-D), an HRD Corp Approved Training Provider — responsible for corporate training.
Both operate from 15-2-1 (Level 1, Room 7), Jalan Setia Prima R U13/R, Setia Alam, 40170 Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm.
What personal data we collect
We collect only what you give us, through one of three routes on this website:
- Contact enquiries. Your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in your message.
- Job applications. Your name, contact details, and your CV or résumé — which typically contains your employment history, education, qualifications and, where you choose to include them, your salary expectations.
- Training registrations. Your name, your company, your email address and your phone number.
We also receive standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, through website analytics (see below). We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, sensitive personal data such as health information, religious beliefs, or political opinions.
Why we collect it, and on what basis
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting one of our forms or sending us your CV. We use it to reply to your enquiry; to assess your suitability for roles and present you to prospective employers; to register and administer your place on a training programme, including issuing invoices; and to meet our obligations as a licensed employment agency and an approved training provider.
Who we share it with
Recruitment only works if your details reach an employer, so we will be direct about this. If you apply for a role or send us your CV, we share your details with prospective employer clients so they can consider you for a position. If you register for training, we share what is necessary with the trainer and, where a claim requires it, with your employer.
We also rely on third-party service providers who host this website, run our application backend, and provide our analytics. They process data on our instructions.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own marketing.
Where your data is processed
Our website forms submit to a backend hosted on third-party cloud infrastructure, and our analytics are provided by Google. These providers may store or process personal data on servers located outside Malaysia. We use them only to operate this website and to deliver our recruitment and training services.
Cookies and website analytics
This website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our pages — for example, which guides are read most. These tools set cookies and collect technical data such as your IP address. We use this only in aggregate, to improve the site. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and you can read how Google handles this data in Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or for as long as the law requires us to. Candidate records are kept while you may reasonably be considered for a role; if you tell us to stop, we stop.
How we protect it
We apply practical safeguards to keep personal data from being lost, misused, or accessed without authorisation, and we limit access to the people who need it to do their work. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we treat a CV as what it is: a document someone trusted us with.
Your rights under the PDPA
Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) gives you rights over the personal data we hold about you. You may:
- Ask what we hold. Request access to your personal data.
- Have it corrected. Ask us to correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
- Withdraw your consent. Tell us to stop processing your data, at any time.
- Stop direct marketing. Ask us not to use your data to send you marketing.
- Limit processing. Ask us to restrict how we process your data.
To exercise any of these, email recruitment@carriera.com.my (recruitment) or trainings@carriera.com.my (training), or write to us at the Setia Alam address above. We may need to verify your identity before we act, so that nobody else can access your data by pretending to be you. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer put you forward for roles or keep your place on a programme.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This notice was last updated on 9 July 2026.
