Recruitment for medical-device manufacturers

Permanent production, quality, regulatory, engineering and commercial talent for device and disposables plants across the Klang Valley — screened for quality-system rigour.

By Steph Eng · Carriera·Updated 17 June 2026
The short answer

Carriera is a Malaysian recruitment agency — Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd, licensed JTKSM 615 — that places permanent white-collar talent for medical-device and disposables manufacturers across the Klang Valley and Peninsular Malaysia. We screen production, quality, regulatory, engineering and commercial candidates for the quality-system and compliance awareness this regulated sector demands.

§ 01
The Sector

Why does device manufacturing need specialist hiring?

Medical-device and disposables manufacturing is a regulated industry, and that changes who you can afford to hire. In Malaysia, medical devices and the establishments that make and distribute them fall under the Medical Device Authority (MDA) of the Ministry of Health, which regulates device registration and establishment licensing under the Medical Device Act 2012 (mda.gov.my). A wrong hire on a quality or regulatory line is not just a productivity problem — it can touch your conformity and your licence.

That is why our recruitment service treats this sector with care. We place permanent people who understand controlled processes, documentation discipline, and the difference between making a part and making it to a standard. If you would like the candidate's view of what we list, our live jobs board shows current openings, many of them in exactly this industry.

§ 02
Roles

Which roles does Carriera place in this sector?

We recruit across four function families for device and disposables makers — production, quality and regulatory, engineering, and commercial. The table below shows the kind of permanent white-collar roles we run searches for.

FunctionTypical roles we place

§ 03
Screening

How do you screen for a regulated manufacturer?

Our six-step process is the same backbone we use everywhere, but for device and disposables makers we tune the assessment step toward quality-system fitness and regulatory awareness — because in this sector a candidate who looks right on paper can still be wrong for a controlled environment.

1

Quality-system literacy

We probe for real exposure to standards such as ISO 13485 and GMP/GDP-type discipline — controlled documents, change control, non-conformance, and CAPA — rather than a buzzword on a CV.

2

Regulatory awareness

For QA, RA and senior production roles we check that candidates understand the registration and establishment-licensing world the MDA oversees, and why traceability matters.

3

Documentation discipline

We look for people who treat records as part of the product — batch records, validation, and audit-readiness — not paperwork to be rushed.

4

Fit & soft skills

As with every Carriera search, we assess qualifications, technical knowledge, experience and soft skills, then present a curated shortlist — never a CV flood.

"In a regulated plant, the quietest risk is a strong CV that has never worked inside a real quality system. Our job is to tell the two apart before they reach your interview room."
§ 04
Compliance

Is Carriera licensed — and how does compliance help you?

Yes. Our recruitment entity is Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd (Co. No. 1058296-H), a private employment agency licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources under JTKSM 615. The Labour Department of Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM) states that private employment agencies are regulated by the Private Employment Agencies Act 1981 [Act 246], which requires anyone undertaking recruiting activities to be licensed (jtksm.mohr.gov.my). For a regulated manufacturer that already lives and breathes compliance, working with a licensed agency keeps your hiring on the same solid footing as the rest of your operation.

Two notes on scope, so we are clear. First, Carriera assesses a candidate's awareness of quality and regulatory frameworks as part of fit — we do not certify competency or stand in for your own onboarding, validation, or training. Second, recruitment compliance and product compliance are different things: we handle the hiring within Malaysian employment law, while device registration and establishment licensing remain governed by the MDA under the Medical Device Act 2012 (mda.gov.my). Once people are on board, our corporate training arm — Carriera Academy, an HRD Corp Approved Training Provider — can help fund their development through your HRD levy under the SBL-Khas scheme (hrdcorp.gov.my).

FAQ

Medical-device hiring questions

Do you recruit QA and regulatory affairs staff for medical-device makers?
Yes. QA, QC and regulatory affairs are among the roles we most often place in this sector, alongside production, engineering and commercial positions. We screen for quality-system literacy and awareness of the Medical Device Authority framework, and present only candidates assessed against your specific requirements.
Where do you recruit for medical-device manufacturers?
Across Peninsular Malaysia, with particular depth in the Klang Valley — Klang, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and the surrounding industrial corridors where many device and disposables plants sit. We are based in Setia Alam, Selangor.
Is Carriera a licensed recruitment agency?
Yes — Agensi Pekerjaan Carriera Talent Resources Sdn Bhd is a private employment agency licensed by the Ministry of Human Resources under JTKSM 615, as required by the Private Employment Agencies Act 1981 (Act 246).
