Why does compliance literacy matter in screening?

Finance is the one function where regulatory error has a price tag. So our screening goes past "can they do a full set" and asks whether a candidate genuinely understands the Malaysian compliance environment they will be working in:

  • LHDN / tax. Corporate and personal tax basics, withholding, deductibility, and audit readiness — the Inland Revenue Board (hasil.gov.my) sets the rules that a finance hire has to work within day to day. A professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA or CPA) typically lifts the band further.
